Ohio Egg Farmer

Brian

“We are able to gather the eggs the same day they are laid... and get them to the customer within a day's time.”

Brian
Egg Farmer

Name: Brian
Location: Ohio
Years farming: I was raised on a beef cattle and feed grain farm, and began farming full-time following graduation.
My family: My wife Lisa and I have been married nine years, and we have five children. Kimberly is eight, Lewis is seven, Luke is four, Lincoln is two, and Roger is 13 months.
How I came to be a farmer: I have been involved in agriculture all my life. As a youth I loved to participate in 4-H and FFA activities by exhibiting my prized beef animals or that large stalk of corn I spent all summer watering.
The best thing about being a farmer: I love being a farmer because it allows me to appreciate the life that God made. Seeing life in the eyes of the animals that we care for and in the plants that grow, from the seeds we planted. Farming also allows me to spend quality time teaching the kids responsibilities and the rewards of seeing what their work has raised.
My personal philosophy on farming: I believe farming allows you to see the full circle of life. The best reward is to know that I was able to produce food that is affordable for people to buy and also allows me to raise my family.
